Pythagorean Spirals
Honors Geometry students recently wrapped up a unit on right triangles. During the unit, they studied the Pythagorean Theorem and then created Pythagorean Spirals to explore the theorem. Some students created them with traditional paper and pencil while others used paper folding and others even wrote computer programs to create them. Great job, Honors Geometry!
Empty Bowls Dinner
Patton Middle School Art teacher Sherri Schultz and her art club did a fantastic job of supporting the Kennett Food Cupboard this February. The club made 45 red clay bowls that were donated to the "Empty Bowls" dinner at the Red Clay room in Kennett Square last week. The dinner is a charity event created to raise funds to support the Food Cupboard and Kennett Community Services. This is one more example of Patton Middle School students and staff making the effort to help those in need in our immediate area. A huge thank you goes out to Mrs. Schultz and her club for making a difference and for making us #PattonProud! Check out the wonderful photos right here.

6th grader Arnab Sircar has been notified by the National Geographic Society that he is one of the semifinalists eligible to compete in the 2016 Pennsylvania National Geographic State Bee. The contest will be held at the State Museum of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg on Friday, April 1, 2016. The National Geographic Society has invited up to 100 of the top-scoring students in each of the 50 states, District of Columbia, Department of Defense Dependents Schools and U.S. territories to compete in the state Bees.
