Science Fair Results

On Thursday, February 3, 2011 Charles F Patton Middle School hosted the annual Science Research Competition.  We had over 100 students participate. Congratulations go out to the final fifteen project participants that will continue on to the County level competition. They are:

6th Grade:

Attention Parents!

Please be sure to check your child’s backpack for information about the Patton Middle School 2010 Cookie Dough Fundraiser. Students can turn in orders first thing in the morning in the cafeteria on Tuesday, November 23 and on Tuesday, November 30. Otis Spunkmeyer Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough Snacks & More can then be picked up from the school from 2:30 – 6 pm on Monday, December 20th.   Sales benefit the school’s Activity Fund. As always, participation is voluntary.

Canned Food Drive

It is time for the Canned Food drive again. Please donate any non perishable food item. Your donations will go to the Kennett Food Cupboard and the food will benefit needy people in our community. You can bring in donations until December 10th. Just place them in the collection bins in each primetime.  Please donate to help those who aren't as fortunate.

Student Activity/User Fees

The Unionville–Chadds Ford School District has formed a committee to investigate the topic of student activity and user fees. Ultimately this committee will make recommendations to the Board regarding the future fee structure for students to participate in activities and/or athletics. Summer Poetry Contest

Justine magazine is offering your aspiring teen poets the chance to express themselves. As we roll into the summer, don't let valuable teen minds turn to mush! Encourage your teen poets to enter Justine's "Just a Poet" contest! Teens can submit an original work of poetry, no longer than 30 lines, between now and August 15th and be entered to win the chance to be published in Justine magazine and on the Spark Book Club Website! Patton Field Day - Volunteers Needed!

Attention Patton Parents - Volunteers Needed! Patton Middle School Field Day will be held on Tuesday, June 15th (rain date June 16th). Because of the number of different stations and groups of students, the Gym and Health teachers need up to 100 parent volunteers to help make this day a success. Volunteer times are either in the morning from 8:30 to 11:30 or in the afternoon from 11:30 to 2:30. You are also welcome to volunteer for the entire day. Please email Mrs. Quinn at mquinn@ucfsd.org if you are interested in helping out on this fun filled day!

Honors Celebration - DATE CHANGE!

The Honors Celebration DATE HAS BEEN CHANGED TO WEDNESDAY, MAY 26, 2010, due to a conflict with the UHS Senior Awards Night, for all students who have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.60-4.30. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but we feel that this change is in the best interest for all parents who are honoring middle school students as well as UHS seniors. Please be assured that this conflict will not happen in the future.

Career Day Registration

Career Day Registration begins Wednesday night at 7PM in Moodle and runs through next Monday at 7PM. Be sure to select a career choice for ALL 4 SESSIONS. Make-A-Wish Dodgeball Tournament

All middle school students are welcome to participate in a dodgeball tournament on June 4, 2010 from 6-9pm at CFPMS. All proceeds of this tournament will go to Make-A-Wish Foundation to help grant the following wish: Zachary is 16 years old from Levittown, PA. His wish is to go to a wrestling match and meet “The Big Show”. Zachary has Down Syndrome and Respiratory Failure.Sign-up forms will be sent home with students. We hope to have many players and spectators!! There will be a bake sale, prizes and raffle tickets sold. Looking for a YMCA Membership?

Attention all 7th graders and soon to be graduating 6th graders! The YMCA of Brandywine Valley has instituted a 7th grade Initiative and is currently offering a free memebership to all 7th graders as well as graduating 6th graders in June. The 7th grade membership lasts until the end of August 2010 and the graduating 6th grade membership lasts until the end of August 2011. Eco-Trek Adventures 2010!

Eco-Trek Summer Adventure Camp - A new adventure every day! Adventures this summer include canoe trips, kayak trips, dolphin cruises, sailing instruction tubing, rock climbing, adventure courses, trips to Six Flags and Hershey Park and three amazing overnights: USS Constitution, Echo Hill and Cape Henlopen. Southern Chester County Soccer Camp

The Southern Chester County Soccer Camp directed by Unionville Boys Soccer Coach Rich Garber will be held July 26th through July 30th at the Unionville/Patton Middle School Campus. Slam Dunk Basketball Camp

The 2010 Slam Dunk Basketball Camp will be held July 12th – 16th (Boys) and July 19th – 23rd (Girls) and will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily, except Friday (9:00 a.m. to noon) The goal of the Slam Dunk Basketball Camp, led by UHS Boys Varsity basketball coach Kevin Crossman, is to provide instruction on a wide range of basketball fundamentals in order to develop a more complete player. Indian Boys Lacrosse Camp

UHS Cheerleading Clinic


Come to the 8th annual Cheerleading & Spirit Clinic hosted by the UHS Varsity cheerleaders on Wednesday and Thursday, June 23 & 24 from 10 am-2 pm at Pocopson Elementary School. Learn proper motions and technique, cheers, jumps, a dance routine, stunts by progression, and have FUN! The cost is $65 and clinic Material will be appropriate for students entering 1st through 8th grade. All participants will receive a free t-shirt and spirit souvenir. Summer Career Academies Through The CCIU

Whatever your child's interest, chances are he or she will find it at the CCIU Summer Career Academies! All academies are taught in an active, hands-on style by qualified, professional instructors.
