Science Research Competition

The results from the Delaware Valley Science Fair are in! Please congratulate the following students on their outstanding achievement: Sagar Maheshwari (6th grade) - 1st Place category, The Broad Com Masters Award, The Jack Nixon Award and $350.00. Shashwat Kishore (8th grade) - 3rd Place category, The Broad Com Masters Award and $50. Samir Streatfield (8th grade) - Honorable Mention category. Selena Belohoubek (8th grade) - The NOAA Award (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)

From the School Nurse

Pennsylvania School Health Law requires that a screening for scoliosis be performed on all children in grades 6 and 7.  Scoliosis screenings for 6th and 7th graders will take place in February. Please read the attached letter from Mrs. Palic, our school nurse, for more information.

Science Fair Results

On Thursday, February 3, 2011 Charles F Patton Middle School hosted the annual Science Research Competition.  We had over 100 students participate. Congratulations go out to the final fifteen project participants that will continue on to the County level competition. They are:

6th Grade:
Paige Young, Sagar Maheshwari, Heather Suh, Caroline Kenton and Elizabeth Koehler, Matt Beiderman and Catherine Mohr.

7th Grade:
Travis Liu,  Julia Anisko, Ivy Elvin and Ivy Yen,  Simran Jain and Erin Harten,  Glen Brown and Michael Kosuth.

8th Grade:
Henry Schafer, Selena Belohoubek, Matt Scheivert, Samir Streatfield, Shashwat Kishore.

Attention Parents!

Please be sure to check your child’s backpack for information about the Patton Middle School 2010 Cookie Dough Fundraiser. Students can turn in orders first thing in the morning in the cafeteria on Tuesday, November 23 and on Tuesday, November 30. Otis Spunkmeyer Ready-to-Bake Cookie Dough Snacks & More can then be picked up from the school from 2:30 – 6 pm on Monday, December 20th.   Sales benefit the school’s Activity Fund. As always, participation is voluntary.

Canned Food Drive

It is time for the Canned Food drive again. Please donate any non perishable food item. Your donations will go to the Kennett Food Cupboard and the food will benefit needy people in our community. You can bring in donations until December 10th. Just place them in the collection bins in each primetime.  Please donate to help those who aren't as fortunate.

Student Activity/User Fees

The Unionville–Chadds Ford School District has formed a committee to investigate the topic of student activity and user fees. Ultimately this committee will make recommendations to the Board regarding the future fee structure for students to participate in activities and/or athletics.
