Course Selection for 9th Grade

On January 29, Mrs. Battineiri met with the 8th grade class to review the course selection process. Packets of course selection information were distributed to students to take home and share with parents. You may download the UHS Course Selection Guide by clicking here.

Positive Impact!

On Tuesday, December 22nd, the 8th grade students and staff engaged in a day of improving communication, problem-solving skills, and building relationships at Neumann University. Built on the foundation of a Full Value Contract, students and staff promised to keep each other safe in body and spirit as they experienced situations where the value of put ups replaced the very human fault of put downs. As group dynamics expert, and leader for the day, Craig Erb explained to our students, "The same challenges which you faced today in these activities are the same challenges that you will face in school, in relationships, and in the workplace. The same solutions which you faced today in these activities are the same solutions that you will use in school, in relationships, and in the workplace." As a staff, we are so pleased with the effort and engagement of our students on this trip--so many laughs, smiles, and positive energy were generated in a unique out-of-the-classroom experience! Special Education Open House

The UCFSD Special Education Department is holding a Transition Open House for parents! Is your student moving from Charles F. Patton Middle School to Unionville High School for the 2016-­17 school year? Do you have questions about the special education support programs, course selection, or just want to meet the HS special education teachers? Please join us on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 1:30-­3:30 PM in the UHS Library.

February’s Art After School

Let's make Sock Monkeys in honor of the Chinese New Year! Learn basic sewing techniques while making your very own sock Monkey. The class runs Tuesday and Wednesdays after school until 4:00 PM beginning February 9. Download a registration form with all the details right here!

Attention All Readers!

The Reading Olympics competition will be held on Thursday, March 10 this year.  Please sign up with Mrs. Steinen in room 111 or Mrs. Rafferty in the library to join the team.  Practices, which are not mandatory, will start  in February. The book list is available on the library website, if you haven't already gotten it.

Course Selection Night

Attention 8th Grade Parents & Students: Please plan to attend Unionville High School Course Selection Night on Wednesday, Feb. 3rd in the UHS Auditorium from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM.

Patton Science Fair

The Middle School Science Fair will be Tuesday, February 2. Top projects will be on display during Curriculum Night in the upstairs back hallway.
