Proud to Plant!
On Monday, Patton 6th Graders, as part of our Olweus program, participated in a service project to benefit the Chester County Food Bank. Facilitated by teacher Jenny Steinen, each Advisory class worked together to plant spinach, beets, lettuce and cilantro seeds into flats, with 128 pots per flat. The flats will be brought to a greenhouse to germinate, and then back to Patton this spring, for our students to plant in our garden tunnels. This will translate to thousands of healthy, fresh vegetable plants that will be donated to the Chester County Food Bank. Another great example of Patton Pride, as our students are literally, and figuratively, planting the seeds of kindness and service. Check out some photos of the event here.
